Research Foundation

Why short training is not enough

Behaviour change in leaders rarely fails due to a lack of knowledge — it fails because insights do not transfer into daily practice. One-time training sessions fade quickly, because the environment does not support them and repetition is missing.

Meta-analytic research (Albarracín et al., 2024, Nature Reviews Psychology) shows that the largest and most lasting effects on behaviour come from combining habit formation, social support, and continuous coaching — far ahead of interventions that rely on knowledge transfer alone. Our Leadership Development Programme is built on this principle: not a one-time event, but a guided development process.

Programme Logic

How lasting impact is created

1

Set the impulse

Intensive residential days create new perspectives and concrete tools.

2

Apply in daily practice

Online coaching supports the transfer into everyday leadership practice.

3

Deepen & embed

The outdoor experience deepens team dynamics and anchors learning through real experience.

4

Build habits

Regular reflection turns new behaviours into stable habits.

Programme Content

The three modules

Module 1

Leadership & Self-Leadership

Connect With Self

The starting point: yourself. Leaders who know themselves well and manage their energy with intention are more resilient, clearer in their decisions, and more effective in their impact on others.

Personal values and leadership identity
Energy and stress management
Building resilience under pressure
Personal effectiveness and focus
Body and performance
Building habits in daily life

Module 2

Teams & Collaboration

Connect With Others

From a group to a high-performing team. This module develops the ability to understand group dynamics, build trust, and keep collaboration productive even under pressure.

Group dynamics and team phases
Creating psychological safety
Communication and conflict
Leading through change
Decision-making as a team
Developing a high-performance culture

Module 3

Deepening & Outdoor Experience

Outdoor & Transfer

The third module creates distance from day-to-day operations and makes leadership behaviour observable in unfamiliar situations: team roles emerge differently than in the office, decision-making patterns become visible, and shared experiences lay the groundwork for transfer and lasting reflection.

Experience-based team building
Transfer and deepening from Modules 1 & 2
Leadership in unfamiliar environments
Making leadership behaviour visible in unfamiliar situations
Shared experiences and trust
Final presentation and commitment

Framework & Requirements

What sponsors need to know

Target group

Leadership teams working together or coming together — typically 6–14 participants.

Duration

Typically 12 weeks, flexible — can be compressed or extended to fit your organisation's calendar.

Residential days

Typically 6–9 residential days across three modules, supplemented by online coaching and individual conversations.

Between modules

Concrete transfer tasks, peer exchange within the group, optional individual coaching, feedback loops with line managers.

Sponsor & HR

We recommend a kick-off conversation with the management team and HR, and a structured transfer review after the programme ends.

Visible outcomes

Clearer communication within the leadership team, concrete behavioural change in daily work, more robust decision-making processes.

For Organisations

Fully in-house — in your context

The programme is offered exclusively as an in-house format. That means: your real topics, your leadership culture, your team — no mixing with other organisations.

Tailored to your organisation

Content and examples are aligned to your industry and leadership culture.

Confidential setting

Participants know each other — this creates a depth that is not possible in open seminars.

Flexible scheduling

We adapt to your organisation's rhythm — no rigid calendar constraints.

DE / EN

The full programme can be delivered in German or English.
